Scope of Work

Background

The administration has prioritized a redesign of the Public Education Department (PED) website, which serves an array of constituents and fulfills a number of needs and functions—and has proven to be an especially critical communications tool as the agency continues to navigate COVID-19 and its impact on schools and families. The PED communications and community engagement teams collaborated to solicit feedback for future design and function of the PED website in order to help inform direction and design of the next iteration of the site.

Mission

To provide a dynamic, user-friendly, integrated, attractive, and branded website that aligns with the PED's strategic plan goals and meets the needs of families, teachers, administrators, media, staff, constituents, and anyone else seeking information and interaction from the PED.

Project Goals

Customer is seeking a quote for the replacement of the PED website. The website replacement will include the following steps:

Goals and requirements

  1. The PED website will serve as the most visible presence and primary communications channel for the agency, especially as it applies to conveying critical information regarding changes concerning COVID-19;
  2. The PED website will serve multiple constituencies within a user-friendly framework that is easy to navigate and prioritizes high-use resources and information;
  3. The PED website will serve as the host site and gateway for critical data microsites (STARS, EngageNM, Vistas, Sharepoint, School Financial Reporting Portal [SB96], etc.);
  4. The PED website will be used by multiple constituencies through linguistically accessible and easy-to-find portals;
  5. Incorporate sitewide search function and SEO;
  6. Differentiated content based on log-in credentials;
  7. Meet accessibility standards (multilingual, ADA compliances).
